Audio: Ksenia Kamikaza’s WYS! Promo Mix

Finding the best way to pin down exactly what Ksenia Kamikaza does depends on what day you catch her on. On the surface of the house and techno community she’s probably best known as a label owner, producer, DJ and radio host, but she also devotes much of her time between event promotion, night club management and running the bookings for Riga’s Under Festival. Kamikazaa grew up in Latvia following the fall of the Soviet Union, where collecting deep house and nu jazz records piqued her early interest in electronic music. She later became a host on the station Silver Radio, before putting out her own ambient LP on her label, Platz fur Tanz. Aside from handling the curation at Under Festival, this year she also appeared on the bill alongside guests like Dasha Rush and Vatican Shadow in what’s become probably Riga’s most significant event for house and techno.
