Chosen by Rinse FM's Roska to play under his Roska Presents banner on Friday night, Italian producer Riva Starr is set to make his return to Farringdon and considering his fabled genre hopping style he’s probably one of the most perfect guests he could’ve picked for the evening. You could make a lot of Starr’s switching up of styles; he’s made a career out of being eclectic and a little bit unpredictable, but like his new single ‘Absence’ shows there’s a real delicacy to what he does... That’s why when he provides a promo mix for you that comes jokingly called Riva Goes B.A.S.S, you know the title will be a little big tongue in cheek and not completely reflective of the music he merges together. Splattered amongst the recognisable names of people like Joy O, Ramadanman, xxxy and A1 Bassline you find work from Starr and one time Man Recordings signee, Genghis Clan and, frankly, it’s a lot deeper than the name makes out.
