Continuing the Butterz themed posts of last week, in the run up to their debut Room Three takeover on Friday 18th February, we're happy to present the second mini mix from the players on the night, in this case, Terror Danjah.
Something of a veteran of the grime scene Terror has be forging his distinct conoction of hyperactive snares and basslines for years, providing beats for Nasty Crew and the Aftershock Camp back in the day and releasing on high profile imprints like Planet Mu and Hyperdub over the last 12 months. His latest album for Hyperdub, Undeniable, showcased 14 tracks that proved how essential he has been for the propulsion of that aggy, umptempo sound, at the same time a skeletal indication of where grime had come from it was an accomplished and polished album that featured people like D Double E, Mz Bratt and regular conspirator D.O.K.
Having released on Butterz with his Bipolar EP at the start of last year, he's been working closely with the camp ever since, building on label's enthusiasm for their craft and applying it to his own Hardive Records imprint, on which he just released 'Gully Goon Estate,' a collaborative reworking of Joker's seminal Bristol anthem, 'Gully Brook Lane.' You can preview that and watch a really interesting interview with Terror by Playground Mag below, where you can also download his exclusive laden mini mix.
