Record Box Peek: Richy Ahmed's Top Room One Tracks

The life of a DJ never stops. From rocking the airwaves and racking up hours behind the decks, to swooping down from Detroit’s Movement festival and then on to give fabric Blog readers some good Friday loving, Hot Natured resident Richy Ahmed never fails to deliver the goods. Making the rapid transition of playing in the cozy confides of our Room Three to the darkness of our cavernous main room- it’s a definitive moment for Richy and we’re hyped to have him play alongside Toronto house legends Art Department tomorrow night. Reaching deep into the depths of his record collection, here are ten fresh tracks selected by Richy that he thinks will kill it on our Room One soundsytem.. DANNY DAZE / Your everything featuring Louisahh Out on Hot creations In June. It has been smashing dancefloors everywhere. Soon as the base drops it's game over DOUBLE UP / Richy Ahmed / S.A.S A track I made with the S.A.S boys. I like to start or finish sets this track as you get the full effect by letting it start from the beginning. It has a wkd old school baseline and really spooky stabs. I have been playing it for months now and it goes of every time. OSKAR OFFERMAN/ Fluffer A track that has been a secret weapon in my sets for years now and it never fails me. the spooky subby almost dubstep baseline works every time. The break down drags on a bit at times but this has the benefit of give the drop more suspense when it eventually kicks back in KILLAH VELVET(Richy Ahmed Edit) An edit I made of a and I fused it with a dubstep base line in one of the breakdowns. I've been playing iy for over a year now and it still works everytime VERNON Bara & Igor Vicente / Breathe N pop This track is quite heavy in parts but works really well on bigger rooms. The best parts of the track are the two killer breakdowns with the hip hop looped vocal. The Time it takes to get to these parts in the track only add to the suspense of the drop. Miguel Campbell /BABY I GOT IT (Richy Ahmed rmx) A remix I have recently just finished for Miguels tune. I wanted to make it a lot deeper and darker so it was completely different from the original. It still goes down equally well on the floor and had a massive response from the crowd in Detroit DR BLUE /JAMIE JONES New one from jamie again this is a club song not made for after parties. It has a massive killer bassline and slight trancey string but really works well on a good system. Waifs and Strays / body shiver One of a bunch of really amazing tracks which I have recently received from the Waifs & Stay's boy's,I think this will be a good year for them if these tunes are any evidence to go. Body Shiver is one of my favourites I've been playing it the last 2 weeks and it's never failed me yet. Maceo Plex/ Can't leave you alone First heard this track when Maceo played it live at the Cross Town party in Miami. Thought it was awesome then and I'm still playing it now. Really quality production and the vocal is amazing. I really feeling his stuff right now. Cera Alba / Missing You A tarck we have recently Signed to Hot Creations. I absolutely love this track and it has been ripping it up every single time I play it . It's Has quite a garage'y bassline but the vocal is very old school. Different but works very well nice work.
